David Furey was a special man. A true people person. I was fortunate to know David for more than a decade. In all that time I never saw him lose his temper. I never saw him raise his voice in anger. I just saw a man who looked for the very best in all of us. A man for who nothing was impossible, nothing too much trouble. He made time for everyone, and he had a way of making you feel good when you shared your time with him.
David had a talent for living life to the full, whether he was traveling the world, or driving the local school bus. David understood how to communicate with all ages. He was passionate about his family, cars, acting, and singing.
David will live on through the lives of his beautiful daughters, Pernilla and Karina, and his grandchildren, Taj and Delilah. He will also be remembered by all of us involved with theatre in the Highlands. He brought so much joy to so many, and we will continue to do this in his memory. In doing so, David will never really leave us.
